Blog 5: a person on your field that you admire

  Hi everyone!!! I hope you have had a good day today! Now I’m going to write about Humberto Maturana. Humberto Maturana was a chilean biologist and a philosopher until 2021 when he died.  He made important contributions in biology and education like autopoiesis theory. This theory describes living systems as self-replicant organisms, for that I can determine the minimal unit of life: the cell. Also in this theory he mixes biology and philosophy because he made questions about the existence and nature of living organisms. I like him because he mixed both areas that I’m studying, biology and pedagogy. Maturana said that learning is focused on previous experiences and reflections. I think the same, the students have to learn from their knowledge and the classes have to be didactic so they actively participate and enjoy going to school. Blog 4: Photo that I like

  Hi people!!! On this occasion I will show you a picture that I like so much.  This photo was taken one morning in September after me and my parents had breakfast while we were on the bed. You can see my cat named Misu and my dog named Kira when we were in the bed and I wanted to take a picture because Misu doesn't love Kira so much so I had to use the opportunity that they are together in the same place. I could not take the best picture because they were moving all the time, but I could take a screenshot of a little video and this picture resulted. I love this photo because they are so important to me, they make me so happy and they are so cute (Just look at their faces). Also I think this photo is so funny because Kira is so happy and Misu is angry and this shows their personalities in life.

Blog 3: My favorite piece of technology

Hi everyone! I hope you feel good this week I've come back to talk about my favorite piece of technology. When I was 12-13 years old my parents gave me a phone and I thought it was wonderful. I could play different and funny games a lot of the time during the day, like 4-5 hours. I think it was bad and my parents told me that. I didn't understand at first, but I think the same now.  However, until now my favorite piece of technology is my phone for many reasons, but I use it responsibly. I can do a lot of things with it like I can listen to music whenever I want, of course with headphones because it is relaxing. I love to take pictures of moments I want to remember and how I always take my phone everywhere I can do it all the time. I can communicate with other people that I love and they are far away from me. Blog 2: Why did you choose to study this career?

  Hi everyone! I hope you are fine.  I come back to talk about why I decided to study to be a biology and chemistry teacher.  When I was child I had various dream jobs because I was interested in so many things. I wanted to be a ballet dancer, I liked art, I studied English for one year, I played basketball, I did a cooking workshop and scientist workshop in the school. I really had no idea what I would finally do in my life. Then, when I was 17 and in secondary school I was not sure what I wanted to do with my future, but I knew that I wanted to work with other people. I had other options about careers like doing a bachelor’s in biology, obstetric, biotechnology engineering, but I prefer pedagogy in science because in this career I can be a teacher and share my knowledge with other people and I can practice science at the same time. Blog1: My autobiography

Hi! In this blog you can get to know me a little. My name is Sofía, I was born on August 7th in 2001 in Santiago de Chile, where I have lived all my life.  I’ve studied in two different schools in my life. One of them is called "Instituto O'higgins" in which I did my primary grade. Then I did my secondary education in "Liceo Bicentenario de Niñas de Maipú". Currently, I study in a university called "Universidad de Chile", more precisely I’m in my 4th year to become a biology and chemistry teacher. At this time, I live in Maipú with my parents, my dad Victor and my mom Paulina. We have a really good relationship, and it is so much fun to live with them.
